This is a remote position with very limited travel and a flexible schedule. The person is responsible for writing internal communications content for the employee newsletter that’s delivered to close to 60,000 caregivers across Intermountain Healthcare, helping design and distribute publications, and other internal communications functions as assigned. This person will help to connect our caregivers with our mission to help people live the healthiest lives possible through storytelling and excellent communication.Position is remote; however, currently we are unable to consider candidates for remote opportunities in the following states: California, Hawaii, Rhode Island and Washington.
Work Schedule: Tuesday and Wednesday, 8 hours/day. The additional eight hours can be spread over Monday, Thursday, and Friday to accommodate three morning meetings that occur every other week. No weekend or holiday shifts required.
Primary Responsibilities
Interview sources from throughout the organization, including executives, managers, and frontline caregivers, as well as patients and family members.
Write newsletter articles using a concise journalistic style.
Ensure communication reflects the organization’s strategic vision.
Ensure company-wide initiatives are successfully communicated to employees, in a timely and relevant manner, especially during times of change.
Measure and present results of communication efforts.
Refine core messaging to ensure organizational consistency in all aspects of communication.
Ensure consistent framing of messages.
Find and edit photography.
Publish articles on company websites.
Edit and revise content as necessary.
Edit, design, and distribute internal publications.
Work with media and social media teams to share articles externally when warranted.
Minimum Qualifications
Degree in Communications, Journalism or Public Relations - or other relevant educational background.
2-3 years of experience as a journalist or communication consultant.
A desire for creative communication.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
The ability to handle several projects concurrently, often under deadline pressure.
Experience in a healthcare setting preferred but not required.
