True Blue Surfaces has been supporting builders with custom fabricated and professionally installed natural and manmade surfaces for residential and commercial counters throughout central Texas since 2007.
Our mission is to be the Stone Fabricator that Homebuilders, Designers and Re-modelers in Central Texas seek to work with on their projects.
We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic person to be a material handler for our countertop fabrication business.
Job Description
A material handler maintains production and distribution of product by pulling stone slabs from inventory; delivering slab material to work cell; staging finished pieces for pickup.
Role and Responsibilities
- Loads, unloads, and moves stone slabs within or near plant, yard, or work site, performing any combination of following duties: Reads work order or follows oral instructions to determine materials or containers to be moved.
- Uses scanners to conduct accurate inventory transactions
- Opens boxes to inspect products for damage
- Loads and unloads materials (sinks) onto or from pallets
- Loads materials (stone slab finished pieces) into vehicles or trailers
- Moves stone slab materials to or from storage or work sites to designated area, using fork truck
- Secures lifting attachments to materials and moves load to destination, using fork trucks
- cleans work area, machines, and equipment, using broom, rags, and cleaning compounds, to assist machine operators.
- This person will also be cross-trained to assist in CNC work-cell for as-needed assistance.
- Must know how to operate a forklift.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Possess a strong work ethic, moral and personal integrity, and honesty.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Must be able to read a tape measure.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Physical Requirements
The position will require the following physical activities on a regular basis; Stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, handling and repetitive motions.
Work Environment
Indoors/outdoors in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
The typical noise level for this job is loud to very loud.
