POSITION SUMMARY: The Meat Clerk will provide quality customer service within the Meat Department by providing our valued customers with fresh meat as ordered by the Meat Manager. All duties will be performed in a manner that will help achieve the Medford Cooperative’s mission and goals.

Principal Duties

· Serve customers throughout the store while modeling a service-oriented culture and providing “best in class” customer service, which includes, greeting, engaging, and thanking every guest for their business.

· Receive, process, prepare, wrap, slice, weigh and label packages.

· Maintain proper shelf, case and display conditions to include: stocking, cleaning, straightening and rotating product, typically weighing less than 20 lbs.

· Maintain proper cooler conditions to include: rotating, cleaning and organizing cases or products.

· Provide consistent, timely and friendly customer service when answering questions, making recommendations and promoting products through suggestive selling.

· Ensure that the meat department is always full and fresh with the best quality products

· Walk department regularly to ensure an organized, sanitary, and overall clean appearance at all times

· Assist to create attractive department displays and end caps based on specific sales for the week

· Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety/sanitation regulations and procedures

· Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Required:

· HS Diploma or equivalent preferred

Skills and Abilities Required:

· Must be age 18 or older to use the equipment in the meat department

· Able to lift up to 50 lbs. as required

· Friendly, courteous, service-oriented attitude

· Strong verbal communication skills

· Excellent organizational and planning skills

· Ability to accommodate a fluctuating schedule, including weekend and holiday shifts

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour
