Job description
The Mechanical Design Engineer at Kaufman Engineered Systems handles all portions of the mechanical
design for our packaging and robotic systems. Through the use of AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor, the
mechanical designer creates system layout drawings, assembly drawings, and detail drawings for the
manufacturing of our equipment. The mechanical design engineer plays an integral role in the system
design through fabrication, assembly and testing of the equipment. They will support the electrical design
group with testing in our facilities. They are part of a fast paced engineering group who as a team provide
equipment that is designed to exceed our customer’s expectations.
- The mechanical design of our packaging and robotic palletizing systems.
- Collaboration with Account Managers and customers on customer system requirements.
- Generate bill of materials and submit to the Purchasing Department.
- Prepare drawing packages for fabrication, assembly, installation ensuring complete and accurate
- Support production personnel to resolve issues that arise through the manufacturing process.
- Updates and maintains equipment drawings for production and equipment, including layouts.
- Works closely with all levels of the organization to improve upon manufacturing machinery and
process improvements.
- Proficient in AutoCAD/AutoDesk Inventor
- Bachelor’s in mechanical and/or Industrial engineering or related degree
- Five plus years of experience
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
- Work well within a team environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft office programs
