Job Summary:

Henneman Engineering Inc. provides comprehensive engineering solutions and consulting services to a broad base of clients. The staff of professionals at Henneman specializes in electrical, mechanical, chemical, process, controls, plumbing, and structural engineering. Henneman provides design services to the State of Wisconsin, municipalities, higher education, K-12 school districts, and federal government. Henneman currently has a position opportunity for an entry-level mechanical engineer for our Madison, WI office, in person.

Responsibilities of the MEP Design/Consulting Mechanical Engineer:

· Perform work as a mechanical engineer in all aspects of project development, including client coordination, pre-design services, final design services, meetings, site visits, and project management.

· Conduct existing conditions surveys and prepare PFDs, P&IDs, layouts, sections, elevations, and details as appropriate to document relevant conditions.

· Conceptualize the initial process, mechanical, and plumbing design approach for projects having overall responsibility for the engineering and/or design work related to process, mechanical and plumbing systems, and code requirements.

· Coordinate design and schedule with other disciplines, such as architectural, structural, electrical, and controls to resolve a variety of complex problems (i.e., conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements).

· Organize and prepare process, mechanical, and plumbing construction drawings (PFDs, P&IDs, layouts, sections, elevations, and details as appropriate), technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.

· Develop engineering solutions and designs, cost estimates, bill of materials, and schedules for projects.

· Have knowledge of applicable codes and standards related to mechanical, piping, and plumbing systems.

· Participate in contract bidding process, prepare and issue responses to contractor requests for information, and prepare and issue bulletin and change order documentation.

· Provide field engineering and construction services, such as shop drawing review and on-site observation.

· Life Cycle Cost Analysis & Energy Modeling

Qualifications/Requirements of the MEP Design/Consulting Mechanical Engineer:

· Education: 4-Year Mechanical Engineering degree required. Being licensed as a Professional Engineer is preferred but not required.

· Experience: Entry level. However, Henneman Engineering is open to considering a diverse range of experience and skill levels. Experience with AutoCAD is preferred.

Benefits/Perk for the MEP Design/Consulting Mechanical Engineer:

· Salary commensurate with skills and experience. $58,000-$70,000
