Location: Irving, TX (100% onsite)
Duration: 12+ Months Contract
Job Description:
Will help develop all the company's products from concept, through design, and into volume manufacturing. The role will work on mechanisms, and actuators, create Test Plans and Reports, create ECOs, and support continuing engineering activities. The role also requires strong optomechanical knowledge.
Education and Experience:
- Required: Associate degree, 3 years of experience.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, 5 years of mechanical engineering experience.
- Experience designing and implementing complex projects on an accelerated timeline.
- Experience in a multitude of manufacturing processes using metals, plastics, adhesives, and silicones.
- 2 or more years of SolidWorks experience or equivalent mastery through education or similar 3D CAD software.
- Strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and be able to work closely with electrical, firmware, and software engineers as an interdisciplinary team.
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills and can present design reviews for other engineers.
- Experience in the design of precision optical systems required.
- Good CAD skills preferably in Solidworks.
- Ability to integrate complex ID surfaces. Familiarity with CAE tools about thermal dissipation, stress-strain, and impact.
- Experience with the design and requirements of medical devices is a plus.
- Knowledge of statistical tolerance analysis.
- Broad knowledge of optomechanical components and systems. 3-5 Years of experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and analyze mechanical parts.
- Manage complex product assemblies in Solidworks.
- Work closely with electrical engineers to develop tightly-integrated, compact electromechanical solutions.
- Source and collaborate with engineering consultants, industrial designers, contract manufacturers, and parts vendors.
- Take products through engineering analysis and design validation testing phases using skills of both the internal team and outside resources such as test labs and consultants.
- Cooperate with manufacturing organization and outside vendors in creating fixtures manufacturing and testing.
Job Type: Contract
Salary: $30.00 - $39.00 per hour
