Day - 08 Hour (United States of America) The Medical Assistant IV performs the duties of a MA I-III, in addition acts in an advanced and/or specialist level with responsibilities for performing work of a complex or interdisciplinary nature. This role may assist managers/supervisors in daily operation duties and guidance of staff, and act as supervisor in the event of supervisor’s temporary absence. What you will do
- C-I-CARE (1, 2)
Executes world class practices of service and patient care in support of C-I-CARE standards.
Uses C-I-CARE templates and the following components for all communication with patients and staff:
CONNECT with people by calling them their proper name, or the name they prefer (Mr., Ms., Dr.)
INTRODUCE yourself and your role
COMMUNICATE what you are going to do, how long it will take, and how it will impact the patient
ASK permission before entering a room, examining a patient or undertaking an activity
RESPOND to patient’s questions or requests promptly; anticipate patient needs
EXIT courteously with an explanation of what will come next
Job Scope
Performs all of Level I, II, & III in addition but not limited to the following:
Clinic patient flow management including clinical documentation in partnership with physician
Develop and/or maintain resource binder for department as needed
Communicate department/organizational updates/reminders as needed.
Attends 1 Leadership class per year.
Able to act as resource when needed.
Acts as liaison between MA and providers.
Maintain MD schedule as needed.
Leads in the development of policies, procedures and maintenance of A3 for department improvement as needed.
Scribing for providers
Knowledge
All of Level I, II, & III, in addition:
Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of principles, practices, and concepts applicable to health care developed through specialized training and/or extensive related experience.
Developing leadership skills.
Knowledgeable about the organization’s strategic goals, long-term direction and performance.
Level of Supervision
Functions independently seeking assistance as appropriate.
All other duties as assigned including department-specific functions and responsibilities (1, 2):
Performs other duties as assigned and participates in organization projects as assigned.
Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Required
Experience Qualifications
- 3+ years to 5 years related experience Required
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Same as Level I, II, & III, in addition:
Ability to obtain new computer skills, orient appropriately, and act as resource as needed.
Act as a resource for telemedicine as needed.
Licenses and Certifications
- CMA - Certified Or Registered Medical Assistant required
BLS - Basic Life Support required
AAMA- American Assoc of Med Assts preferred
AMT - American Med Technologist preferred

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $27.33 - $34.85 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
