Amarillo Pathology Group and Physicians Preferred Laboratory are seeking a Medical Courier to join our highly trained team.

Amarillo Pathology Group and Physicians Preferred Laboratory provide leading edge anatomic pathology and clinical laboratory services throughout the Texas Panhandle medical communities . Our mission is to provide our customers with accurate, timely diagnostic support and unparalleled customer service.

The Medical Courier will work Monday through Friday from 09:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m..

Duties include:

  • Picking up specimens according to established route and schedule and verifying that specimens are handled according to established specimen requirements and that test requisitions are completed correctly.
  • Delivering specimens to designated laboratory distribution site using appropriate handling, storage and transportation methods, including the use of styrofoam containers, dry ice, cold packs, etc., to maintain specimen integrity.
  • Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with clients by performing each services as:
  • Delivering test results and other types of information (e.g. new test information/explanations, instructions regarding procedures and holiday closures);
  • Solving on site problems such as paper jams, ribbon changes and supply shortages; and
  • Assisting clients in routine ordering of supplies.

Demonstrating caring and empathy towards the customer.

  • Protects the privacy of patient health information by keeping all information regarding the patient and their specimen orders/results strictly confidential.

Qualifications include:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Good driving record
