Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital (HMNH) is looking for a Medical Office Receptionist (MOR) to join their MSO team at our Urgent Care Practice. Henry Mayo Newhall Urgent Care is a practice that offers medical care to patients on a walk-in basis. We treat patients from minor illnesses and injuries to preoperative exams. Henry Mao Newhall Urgent Care is open Mondays through Saturday.

The MOR maintains a clean, organized and safe environment. The MOR organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice. This includes collecting patient data in person and by phone and documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review, scheduling of appointments and procedures, complete and accurate message taking, routing messages to the appropriate area for direction, order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications and setting up of cases, and basic registration and updating of demographics.

Licensure:

• BLS Certification (Red Cross or American Heart Association)

Education:

• Minimum High School graduate or GED equivalent.

Experience:

• Two years minimum in health care setting such as a medical office or insurance billing.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Experience or knowledge of Medical Billing – Highly Preferred.
• Knowledge of third party reimbursement especially HMO/ PPO.
• 2+ years of EMR/EHR experience – Highly Preferred.
• Basic medical terminology.

Job Types: Part-time, Per diem

Pay: $16.52 - $26.43 per hour
