Position: IR Technician
Supervisor: Director of Laboratory Science
Subordinates: None
FLSA: Exempt

Position Summary:
This role is for a college graduate who has either completed the in house 90-day training program or has industry experience to
qualify under CLIA as Testing Personnel. The IR Technician is responsible for preparation and analysis of toxicology samples
in a High Complexity Laboratory.

Essential Job Duties:
 Prepare samples for analysis
 Set up and run analytical instruments including system suitability, calibration, and QC.
 Monitor performance of analytical instruments
 Assist organization of work and equipment across the team for best efficiency
 Perform basic instrument troubleshooting and repairs
 Make calibration, QC and other solutions
 Maintain compliance documentation
 Participate in housekeeping and other general tasks
 Demonstrate and promote Brightview values
 Observe and promote safety practices
 Be a team player and maintain a positive attitude towards work
 Clear communication
 Strong work ethic and attention to detail
 Ability to work independently and in a team setting
 Flexibility to adjust to changing schedules and tasks
 Ability to use micropipetors and other laboratory equipment
 Comfort with working with human urine and other biological matrices
 Standing and using repetitive hand motions for several hours per day

Required Education/Degree:
College degree in chemistry or related science: BS/BA, Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification, or Associates with at least two years of related clinical toxicology experience

Required Certification/License:
Successful completion of a background check and drug test

Required Work Experience:
Completion of 90-day training program as mentioned above, one or more years of general work experience desirable (for
BS/B degree) if Assoc degree at least 2 years direct experience.
