Job Overview:
The National Account Manager is responsible for developing and managing relationships with strategic customers including: National Accounts, Catalog Houses, and customers where a strategic partnership is desired. This position is responsible for coordinating and collaborating with Field Sales to grow strategic accounts within each region. They must also provide direction and carry out responsibilities in conformance with our Corporate Code of Business Conduct.
Administrative duties to include:
- Acts as corporate liaison to assigned currently established strategic accounts.
- Establishes productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts.
- Identifies potential new strategic accounts and acts as the lead sales team member.
- Coordinates the involvement of company personnel, including support, service, and management resources, in order to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations.
- Drives and implements strategy for profitable sales volume in assigned accounts.
- Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis.
- Communicates strategic account strategies to field sales and provides detailed path forward/ strategy for use by Regional Sales Management.
- Contributes to Badger’s success relative to balancing long and short term goals and objectives with regard to addressing the needs of the market.
- Develops respectful and dependent interrelationships amongst all departments and all levels of management.
- Interprets the market requirements for all flow instrumentation product lines and develops plans to penetrate strategic accounts.
- Insures that all contracts are current and are being managed.
- Insures that reports and correspondence are submitted on a timely basis including managing pricing notification to customers.
- Motivates all field sales personnel to participate in strategic account initiatives.
- Attends various shows and conventions as scheduled, and assist in staffing as requested by the Director of Flow Instrumentation Sales.
- Communicates and lives the Vision, Mission and Guiding Principles of the Corporation.
- Develops a good working relationship with and a loyalty to employees at all levels.
- Assists in other functions as directed by Director of Flow Instrumentation Sales.
Qualifications:
- 5 years or more of experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business or similar
- Advanced level of skill in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS PowerPoint
- Experience working with large or strategic accounts a plus
- Experience selling a technical product into industrial environments a plus
- Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM a plus
- Prior direct sales experience a plus
- Strong presentation/training skills a plus
- Previous management/leadership experience a plus
