Job Summary

In the Office of Research and as an Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Regional Hub Midwest team member, the Multimedia Producer uses visual storytelling to build effective and compelling media for the Hub and its industry, academic, and government partners. This role supports video production from beginning to end, including ideation, storyboarding, scouting, cast and crew, scripting, shooting, and post-production. This role will be responsible for actively operating cameras, shooting setup, and editing for various mediums.


Duties & Responsibilities


Video Content Creation from Inception:

  • Responsibility includes storyboarding video shoots, planning shoots with partners, coordinating equipment and schedules, shooting videos, editing final content, and producing multiple files for the client (Hub Partners).

Social Media:

  • Work with the marketing team to develop content for in-house generated content for social media channels
  • Content includes video but also other digital content as needed

Website Development:

  • Update website content and facilitate updates to the AFRL Regional Hub – Midwest website as needed

Digital Journalism:

  • Serve as a digital journalist to document important stories relating to AFRL at Purdue
  • Work with Marketing and Communications team to highlight stories that would benefit from video content generation.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
  • Two (2) years of experience in video production (including using cameras, microphones, and lighting), field and studio work, developing social media platforms, and editing website content
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
  • Must have the ability to balance short- and long-term deadlines, accept and process feedback, and work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels
  • Knowledge of WordPress
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Collaborative and values teamwork
  • Familiarity with or ability to learn Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Premiere), Macs and/or PCs, and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to learn Adobe After Effects and Audition
  • Experience following brand standards and operating within identity guidelines
  • Demonstrated design and conceptual skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to manage several projects concurrently and be able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Good time management skills to meet deadlines on multiple projects
