PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Network Engineer is and individual contributor that performs the role of testing, evaluating, building, and maturing the tools used by MGM Resorts International under the direction of Network Architecture. In addition, the Network Firewall Lead Engineer serves as an escalation point to aid in the resolution of operational incidents within the scope of the tool set. This individual will drive future development of Enterprise platforms and project on premises and in the cloud and provide technical delivery of tasks to support projects within the organization. This individual is expected to possess strong technical and leadership skills, including the ability to troubleshoot and provide problem resolutions, the ability to lead and drive projects to completion, and the ability to mentor other team members in supported technologies. Additionally, this individual must have the ability to communicate effectively with cross functional teams, upper management, and key stakeholders as necessary. The role requires that the individual ensures system hardware, operating systems, systems software, and related procedures adhere to organizational standards and industry best practices.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide overall technical leadership on projects, while driving project tasks and team deliverables.
  • Display the ability to collaborate with Project Management, Architecture, Applications Support, Development teams and leadership with little supervision, along with participation in technology roadmaps & fiscal budgeting processes.
  • The ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment with minimal supervision to drive tasks to achieve project milestones and deadlines.
  • Monitor and maintain components of the Network Technology stack verifying the integrity and availability of all software, server resources, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, along with verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Perform security administration, account management, technology reviews.
  • Drive vulnerability management per security standards including developing process and procedures in support of security standards.
  • Provide performance and capacity monitoring and reporting.
  • Provide ongoing performance tuning and resource optimization as required.
  • Maintain a work environment that promotes client service, teamwork, performance feedback, individual recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction ensuring quality hiring, training, and succession planning processes that encompass the company’s diversity commitment.
  • Provide Tier III/other support per request from various constituencies.
  • Repair and recover from hardware or software failures.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of security experience: Have a track record of competency in the field of information security intelligence, vulnerability management or incident response.

  • Gaming License in required jurisdictions
