We Elevate... Your Responsibilities
- Measuring & Setting Out lift/escalator Installations in accordance with approved procedures.
- Complying with Statutory Regulations and organisational safety. Preparation of work area for installation activities. Handing over and confirming completion of installation activities on multi-unit sites and third-party interfaces.
- Install Lift Well and Ancillary Equipment in accordance with approved procedures by selecting appropriate tools and equipment based on the operations to be performed and the equipment to be installed.
- Install Traction Equipment in accordance with approved procedures by selecting appropriate tools and equipment. Installation will require the siting, assembly, fitting, alignment and adjustment of the lift/escalator equipment.
- Installing Lift Ropes (traction media) and adjust in accordance with approved procedures. The applicant will be required to have install suspension, safety and governor ropes to new or reconstructed lift equipment.
- Installation of Lift Doors and Frames in accordance with approved procedures. The doors and frames to be installed include manual and power-operated solid sliding doors, multi-leaf doors, hinged doors, collapsible gates, shutter gates and bi-parting doors and shutters, door operators and safety devices for new or reconstructed lift equipment.
- Checking and Setting the Lift/escalator Installation in accordance with approved procedures. The checks to be carried out include the final checks and adjustments to the operation of lift/escalator installations prior to final test and commissioning.
- Carry out site surveys.
- Keep the supervisor informed regarding the progress of work, hours spent and any non-compliance.
- Stay in communication with the customer and the supervisor to ensure the satisfaction of the customer needs.
- Employees are required to carry out all works in accordance with the Company’s Quality Corporate policy.
- Employees are required to attend all relevant training sessions.
- All employees are required to work in accordance with the Company’s Safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current UK legal requirements and Schindler Group safety requirements, as well as setting a personal example of safe behaviour.
- Employees will be required to contribute to the Company safety objectives, where necessary by maintaining/monitoring current safety systems under their direct control and implementing agreed changes (where applicable) to its safety management system.

- Manual dexterity - Requires the use of hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate various hand and power tools and to record written information.
Qualification/Experience required:
- Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in Lift/Escalator Installation or equivalent.
- Possession of a relevant/valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card.
- Possession of expert product and Installation knowledge/experience.
- Expert Electrical and Mechanical knowledge/skills, including Dual Brand equipment.
- Complex fault finding and diagnostic skills
- Full UK driving License.
- Mentoring and carrying out training to Trained, Advance and Lead Fitters.
- Good Technical Report writing skills.
- Good management and Leadership skills.
- Acting as a Team Leader and New Product Ambassador.
- Excellent Interpersonal skills.
