MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of The University of Texas M. D. SUMMARY
The primary purpose of the Nursing Assistant position is to provide patient care and customer services as delegated. The Nursing Assistant affects patient comfort and outcomes of care.
MD Anderson Cancer Center has Nursing Assistant opportunity in the ATC Sugar Land HAL.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience in a healthcare setting (rehabilitation facility, hospital or similar). Candidates that are certified Nursing Assistants and have experience working in a hospital environment preferred.
Shift: Monday - Friday rotating shifts between the hours of 8:30am-5pm, 10am-6:30pm and 11am-7:30pm (will be assigned based on business needs)
1. Assists Nursing Staff:
a. Responsibilities include completion of routine patient care assignments as delegated
b. Accurately record vital signs and other data, report abnormalities to nursing staff.
2. Assists Patients:
a. Aids in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, greeting, rooming, and vital signs.
3. Work Environment:
a. Maintains environment in a clean, safe, and orderly manner
b. Stock and maintain unit and patient care supplies and equipment.
4. Effective Communication:
a. Escalates significant events and concerns regarding patients and their care to appropriate nursing staff
b. Responsible for the security and confidentiality of patient information at all times
5. Other Duties as Assigned

Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
Required: None
Preferred: One year of experience in a healthcare setting (rehabilitation facility, hospital or similar).
Licensure/Certification
Required: None.
Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant
