***Exciting opportunity to join our growing team in our fabulous brand new PEDIATRIC OUTPATIENT CENTER located at 8260 WILLOW OAKS CORPORATE DRIVE.*** We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to provide specialty care to a diverse pediatric population with an interdisciplinary team. We offer specialty rehabilitation services to children from birth-18 years of age using an individualized, child and family-focused treatment plan. We offer strong mentorship, as well as interdisciplinary rounding, specialized clinics and cutting edge equipment.
As an Occupational Therapist, you will adhere to department policies regarding timeframe, form and content of written evaluations, progress notes and discharge summaries. To help achieve our mission, you will communicate effectively with patients, family, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors and outside contacts while completing all administrative tasks and other responsibilities in support of the operating unit.
Job Responsibilities
- Documents evaluation results clearly and completely according to department policy.
- Completes daily progress notes that reflect patients' responses to treatment, actual performance and an assessment as to status, relevant to the treatment plan, and eventual discharge needs and treatment summaries if needed.
- Completes discharge notes that include a summary of the course of treatment, progress toward goals, discharge needs, recommendations for follow-up and patient and/or family education.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors and outside contacts.
- Provides educational materials and methods appropriate to patients' level of understanding and motivation.
- Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment and protocols. Performs re-evaluations according to department guidelines – adjusting the treatment plan as needed.
Education: M.S. in Occupational Therapy
Certification: BLS through American Heart Association (AHA)
Licensure: VA License required
Special Skills: Basic computer knowledge, proficient in English verbal and written skill
