  Staff working at a MSK New Jersey location must be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, which includes having completed the primary COVID-19 vaccination series and booster once eligible as mandated by New Jersey State. All New Jersey staff not yet eligible for a booster must receive a booster within 3 weeks of becoming eligible as a condition of continued employment at MSK.

The Admissions Center is operational 24/7 & 365 days a year and plays a meaningful role, working with almost every department or unit in the center. We serve as a critical hub for all inpatient activity, managing patient flow for inpatient beds across the center. We work closely with all levels of clinical staff and management and maintain efficient throughput of inpatients within the Center.

We are looking for an Admissions Bed Coordinator to join our team! Are you looking for a meaningful role in a high-functioning department? Join us in facilitating patient flow through the bed assignment process!

You Will:

• Prioritize and determine appropriate bed assignments by utilizing operational dashboards and Patient Flow Command Center Resources
• Track bed assignments by working closely with other internal teams such as EVS and Nursing Transport.
• Connect with the Charge Nurse regarding canceled discharges, canceled requests, and updated anticipated discharges
• Collaborate with clinicians to make strategic decisions
• Monitor UCC volume and surgery schedule to track patient status changes and estimated arrivals

You Are:

• An effective communicator, capable of determining how best to reach different audiences and executing communications based on that understanding
• Capable of building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions
• A good decision-maker

You Have:

• 1-2 years of relevant experience in a comparable role
• Have great communication skills
• The ability to multitask
