About This Role
Our St. James' Gate Brewery and our packaging/processing sites in Dublin and Mallusk are the home to our, world famous, brands Guinness and Baileys. We have two sites in Dublin and one in Northern Ireland and all 3 are leading facilities in our industry.
Manufacturing Excellence Manager is a great opportunity to lead and facilitate improvement in performance, standards and capability through the MMS change journey for Baileys Manufacturing sites (Dublin & Belfast) and Dublin Brewery & Keg Plant at St James’ Gate.
You will lead Process Capability and Training & Development teams of MMS training. You will analyse data optimally to define and deliver improvement opportunities in all aspects of the balanced scorecard (Safety, Quality, Environment, Asset Care, Delivery, Productivity, Cost and Morale) across the 3 sites.
Key responsibilities include:
- Work at the tier 1 & 2 to deliver engineering functional expertise and coaching across the site
- Lead and advocate good governance around internal and external compliance (health & safety, quality and environment).
- Support and drive electrical compliance onsite through leading as the responsible person for the site.
- Continuous Improvement - accountable for specialist improvement activity
- Provide high levels of specialist support to the operations teams and as such must be able to work flexibly across shifts when required.
- Proactively lead on performance analysis that drives improvement actions that address adverse performance trends.
- Take accountability for the asset care standards within the area and ensure the delivery of effective asset care processes and procedures through Operations team.
- Work with Operating Equipment Manufacturers to drive faster problem solving and greater plant availability
- Support in delivery of outstanding performance in all aspects of the balanced scorecard (Safety, Quality, Environment, Asset Care, Delivery, Productivity, Cost and Morale).
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A qualified time served trade (Electrical) or local equivalent is a key requisite
- Minimum HND in Electrical Engineering
- Experience of working in a challenging quality & customer focused FMCG environment.
- Thorough working knowledge and demonstrated expertise in all areas of plant
- Proactive structured problem-solving skills learnt through exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, TPM or Manex
- Expert knowledge of RCPS, 5S, Set Up Time Reduction, Autonomous Maintenance
- Basic financial awareness, understanding of business drivers, budgeting processes.
- Proficient in use of standard business (MS Office) and Diageo packages.
- Good working knowledge of Environmental legislation and standards
- Track record of maintenance management - KPI improvement, planning effectiveness and Continuous Improvement
- Demonstrated coaching ability
