A Brattleboro, VT area paper manufacturer is in immediate need of a Mill Production Employee to join their swing shift team with a rotating schedule. The ideal candidate will be reliable, dependable, and safe in a factory setting. This position is offering a starting wage of $21/hour.

Responsibilities:

• Learn safety precautions and procedures including LOTO and CSE procedures.
• Learn industrial equipment functions and safely operate within functional design.
• Understand and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment problems.
• Learn and become proficient at multiple jobs within the schedule to satisfy crew requirements.
• Learn and perform machine clothing installation procedures.
• Set-up winder cuts, splices, samples, and transport rolls.
• Manage fiber supply and quality with crew lead input.
• Work to improve housekeeping every day.
• Communicate professionally and effectively.
• Train newer crew members once proficient at tasks.
• Record data either electronically or manually depending on the job requirements.
• Communicate equipment problems that need support for repair.
• Monitor equipment with tools available to improve equipment reliability.
• Safe operation of forklifts and other powered industrial equipment.

Position Requirements:

• Experience preferred in a paper mill or other industrial setting
• Experience preferred in forklift operation/powered industrial trucks
• General fluency in English and Math are required, verbal and written.
• Basic computer literacy
• Ability to move about all areas of the plant, including catwalks, deck grating, uneven surfaces, confined spaces, stairs, and stationary vertical ladders (no fear of heights, tight spaces etc.)
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, maneuver up to 75 lbs. repeatedly
• Perform job duties in adverse weather conditions.
• Walk for distances of 100 yards repeatedly and without assistance
• Lift 50 pounds repeatedly and without assistance or equipment.
• Safely work in hot or cold and wet environments.

Hours: Rotating Swing 7:00am – 7:00pm OR 7:00pm – 7:00am
