At this time, the program is in need of a part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) working approximately 28 hours per week, working to support 1-3 clients as needed. This schedule will consist of 2pm to 9pm shifts, and may vary, to include weekdays and/or weekends, with weekend shifts being 8 hours long.The ideal DSP must be flexible, as shifts are subject to change to accommodate the client's support needs. Responsibilities/Duties

Complete any and all data collection, Medical Administration Records (MAR's), observation notes, and daily reports as instructed Ensure individuals receive their medications as prescribed by their physician and documented on the Medication Administration Record (MAR). Specifically, make certain the correct medication(s), dosage, route, and time have been given to the individual and documented appropriately on the MAR's. Assess the individuals' abilities, interests, changes in health status, etc. on an ongoing basis and document/report to the Director(s) Transport individuals to and from community activities, such as doctor's appointments and errands, ensuring all safe driving principles are observed.

Required Experience

Be at least 18 years of age

Florida state regulations require the following:
Have one year of experience working in a medical, psychiatric, nursing or child care setting, or in working with recipients having developmental disabilities
Have college, vocational, or technical training from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester, 45 quarter or 720 classroom hours for the required experience

Required Education

High school Diploma or GED

• Associates or bachelor's degree is preferred

Required Qualifications

Level 2 Fingerprint screen pursuant to chapter 435( FBI and FDLE)

Local Criminal Records check through county law enforcement

Valid Florida Driver's License

E-Verify Employment Verification

Basic computer skills, basic phone/ipad/electronic device skills. Must be able to document and navigate in these systems for service logs for Electronic Health Records for clients.

Program Summary

RHD DeFuniak Springs provides personal assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in their own homes in the community. The program is designed to assist others in reaching their highest potential and building their independence in their homes and community.
