Parts and Service Center Manager
Location: Janesville, WI

The Parts & Service Center Manager will oversee all activities related to parts and service repair facility while ensuring a safe, profitable, and efficient work environment. In this role, you will build and maintain high-performing teams and systems to achieve the profitability of the site as well as increasing customer satisfaction and promoting returning business.
The Nuts and Bolts
- Build a high-performing team by creating a productive working environment and relationships with team members by leading by example.
- Improve communication with internal and external customers by development and maintenance of systems reporting. Communicate any changes or challenges that arise with service or parts orders to the customer.
- Conduct feedback sessions with current customers to continually improve customer relationships.
- Champion and seek continuous improvement activities to achieve company goals and maintain a 5S standard of cleanliness.
- Support growth of sales budget by actively pursuing new customers and participating in sales calls to new and existing customers
- Ensure that customer requirements are communicated and met.
- Scheduling of units and parts orders picked and shipped to meet the customer expectations.
- Review all work orders and verify hours and materials quoted. Review work orders with the assigned tech prior to starting.
- Ensure that work order meets the quoted labor and material amounts during the process.
- Inventory and materials management, including storage of materials, inventory turns, and reducing excess/ obsolete inventory by ensuring that cycle counts are performed to achieve desired inventory accuracy.
- Analyze P & L statements, financial reports, and budget to achieve maximum profitability. Ensure targeted gross margins are met, in sales and freight delivery.
- Champion team member engagement activities
- Perform/oversee quality checks on all completed units.
- Establish process to follow parts orders taken & orders shipped within 24 / hours.
- Assist in the training of the estimator / coordinator or regional sales representative, to achieve accurate and timely estimates and pursuit of parts and repair sales.
- Maintain OSHA Standards and company procedures for safety, immediately addressing concerns and prioritizing improvement opportunities.
- Processing customer payments, processing NCR returns & documenting the outcome monthly (showing credits back to the department or reason for denial of credit).
- Assist with annual physical inventory, which may include travel to other service centers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Credentials
- Technical Certificates, Diploma, or Associate’s Degree required
- 2-3 years of previous experience managing a repair facility
- Minimum 5 years of experience in collision repair and parts sales
- Track record of achieving sales targets and budget
- Experience managing a P & L (profit and loss), budget, and other financial reporting
- Inventory management experience
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software
- Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to lead by example and be a team player
Preferred Credentials
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, in business administration, finance, or related field
- Understanding of basic credit and collections
- JD Edwards or other ERP/MRP system experience, highly desired
- Bilingual Spanish a plus
You Must Be Able to
Working in an office environment in a seated position a minimum of eight hours per day is required. Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday.
The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
