Expected Starting Salary Range:

Patient Access Rep I - 15.75-18.40/hr

Patient Access Rep II -16.98 - 20.43/hr

Location: Southgate Primary Care (Kentucky)

Must be able to travel occasionally to other locations of Florence and Cold Spring

Fulltime- 36hrs per week

Hours: 8am-4:30pm Monday - Friday, one evening per week(10:30am-7pm)

One Saturday required per month (7:45am-12pm)

SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Responsible for the timely registration and scheduling of patients for in-patient and out-patient services.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Customer Service

Provides assistance and services to patients, families, staff and external agencies in the accurate completion of patient registration, admission and scheduling. Investigates and resolves customer requests, questions or problems according to CCHMC policies and procedures. Contacts outside representatives to request information or assistance in resolving problems.

• Revenue Cycle Support

Supports the Revenue Cycle, Health Information Management, and Regulatory by ensuring that the necessary data, information and forms are obtained and accurately entered into the appropriate system. Talks to management to explain system errors or to recommend changes to the system.

• Safety

Ensures patient safety by identifying the correct patient. identifying special needs, and preparing isolation precautions for patients who have Infectious Disease indicators.

• HIPAA/Confidentiality

Maintains confidentiality, protects and safeguards patient/family personal medical and financial information at all times during collection, use and storage. Access only information and records necessary to perform the responsibilities of the position.

• Compliance

Completes and authenticates all documents and questionnaires that ensure compliance with regulatory agencies (JCAHO, CMS, ODH)

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline (Patient Access Rep II)
• 0 years of work experience in a related job discipline (Patient Access Rep I)

Preferred:

• 1-5 years of previous healthcare scheduling/registration experience
• 1-5 years of EPIC experience
