Payroll/HR Administrator, this role works hand and hand with Accounting on weekly payroll and benefits processing and Safety regarding training and W/C as needed. In addition, responsible for coordinating the implementation of employee-related services, policies, and programs while assisting and supporting managers regarding Human Resources issues.

Job Functions:

  • Updates information into weekly payroll system (raises, benefit changes, retirement deductions, employee new hire and terminations etc.)
  • Conducts recruitment efforts for all exempt and non-exempt personnel in collaboration with corporate staff.
  • Establishes an employee-friendly, empathetic, and supportive HR function for all levels of staff by providing HR support to 5 locations in 4 states (MA, ME, CT & NY) (support includes new hire and benefits orientations, answering questions, processing leave information, managing HRIS, etc.).
  • Reconciles monthly invoices for all benefits against payroll and benefit billing reports.
  • Maintains a comprehensive understanding of federal, state (MA, ME, CT & NY), and local employment laws, leave laws, and mandates.
  • Administers various leaves of absence across 4 states.
  • Investigates all harassment allegations, work complaints, and other employee relations concerns.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential):

  • Bachelor s degree in business, HR or related studies, preferred or equivalent related experience.
  • 3 years' previous experience in an HR function;
  • Occasional travel to all 5 units as needed.
  • Previous experience and/or visibility into payroll information input (will not process payroll, but will be inputting any/and all employee changes for processing);
  • Knowledge of a broad range of HR practices, including compensation, performance management, safety, hiring, and employee relations; able to apply these strategies and practices in compliance with employment regulations;
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to pick up different software
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple projects
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have the ability to problem-solve and manage difficult situations
  • Dedicated, hardworking and reliable
  • Above average organizational skills.
