Position Name: Payroll Lead
Classification: Non-exempt
FTE: Full time
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Supervisor: Human Resources
Job Summary:
Position will be responsible for maintaining payroll timekeeping and processing systems, processing multi-state non-certified and certified payroll weekly for multiple companies, maintaining employee time records, payroll compliance and tax reporting.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Data collecting, data entry and verifying time for multiple companies
- Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees’ hourly rates, prevailing wage and fringe rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses, per diems, job travel reimbursement or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding
- Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, 401(k) contributions, and other deductions
- Investigates and resolves payroll discrepancies
- Creates and files weekly certified payroll reports as required
- Reconciles payroll accounts to the general ledger and monthly bank statements
- Issues, or reissues direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge
- Records and processes federal and state payroll tax deposits
- Quarterly payroll tax preparations and fillings
- Year-end payroll compliance – fringe W2 reporting, W2, 1095, etc.-and tax filing
- Work Comp and 401k plan audits
- Census reports to various entities
- Processes employee benefit payments
- Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Deadline-driven
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; above average Excel skills
- Proficient with Kronos and HCSS, or similar field data collection software, or the ability to quickly learn payroll software
- Critical thinking and excellent math skills
- Certified payroll experience preferred
- Bilingual preferred
- Confidentiality required
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associates degree preferred
- 3 – 5 years payroll experience
- Experience with construction job costing and certified payroll preferred
- Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) and the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) a plus

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
