Payroll Supervisor.

Department: Fiscal.

Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Comptroller.

Position Overview: In charge of Staff and Foster Parent Payrolls.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

A. Payroll Processing:
  • Manage and be responsible for processing staff and foster parent payroll transactions including salaries, monthly stipends, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Partner with the HR team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing updates including new hires, terminations, and changes in pay rates before payroll transmission.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely year-end payroll closing and processing of W2 statements to include third-party sick pay and Group Term Life Insurance calculations.
  • Helps to satisfactorily resolve Employee issues and disputes.
  • Creates and manages the payroll workflow and all required teamwork schedules. Also, responsible for reporting payroll and fringe benefits data and generating schedules (internal and audit), and ensuring that they accurately capture bi-weekly amounts on the general ledger.

B. Automated Systems:
  • Work with Graham’s Human Resources and Information Technology Departments and Paycom’s training and Support teams to enable staff to fully understand and utilize all automated payroll modules and menu items. Provide training where necessary.
  • Work with the Information Technology Department to modernize the agency’s Foster Parent payroll process and system to rely solely on direct deposits and card payments.

C. Other Areas:
  • Works collaboratively with Graham’s Funders, Board, and Programs within the agency’s One Graham positive culture.
  • Carry out selected short and long-term special project assignments identified by Supervisors or other senior administrators.
  • Performs regular supervision of direct reports using the agency’s supervision model.
  • Evaluate performance and provide feedback using the agency’s automated evaluations system.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of non-profit industry-related experience and BA/BS degree, preferably in accounting or finance or a satisfactory equivalent of education and/or experience.
  • Require excellent spreadsheet and strong database skills (word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications), as well as strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have knowledge and experience with General Ledger & Journal Entries.

Must possess the following qualities:
  • The capacity to undertake complex project assignments calls for a combination of accounting, operations analysis, and communication skills.
  • Skills to assemble, motivate and inspire a strong team and drive outstanding performance.
  • Sound audit planning and management skills.
  • The ability to establish strong working relationships and work well with teams and individuals within the agency, government, and other social service agencies.
  • Proficiency in English: written and spoken.

Salary: $75-83K + Merit Pay + Benefits.
