TIME FRAME: ALL JAZZ FEST EVENT DAYS

April 27th-30th, May 4th-6th

POSITION SUMMARY: Monitor admittance into the Personnel gates which admit participants and staff with credentials. Assist in maintaining a safe environment for employees, participants, and public in assigned areas. Enforce all Festival policies and procedures equally, fairly and professionally without prejudice or favoritism to promote goodwill and positive relations with staff, participants, and public.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Attain complete understanding of credential/ticket/ admittance system for participants and staff.
• Check credentials of vehicles entering at assigned gate including personnel credentials, parking credentials, and handicapped credentials for public.
• When necessary, contact supervisor to verify admittance needs and make final decisions regarding any questions or disputes.
• Respond appropriately to and immediately report all incidents while on duty to supervisor.
• Liaison with staff posted at gate from other departments such as Ticket takers/sellers and NOPD.
• Observe, correct and report all safety and fire hazards in assigned area. Be familiar with all emergency procedures.
• If necessary, assist in the set-up and movement of barricades, signs, fencing, barrels, pennants, etc. as necessary to maintain crowd flow and security in assigned area.
• Use and maintain all assigned equipment in a professional and responsible manner.
• Perform all other work-related duties, as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Using the Absentee Request Form, it is the responsibility of each employee and their supervisor to accurately report their absenteeism to the HR Office.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive issues.
• Must attend and complete any required training.
• Any document, computer program, design or other intellectual property created for the Jazz Festival belongs to the Jazz Festival and must be given to the Festival through your supervisor or department head at the end of each production year, or upon request.
• Must complete all required Feedback Forms and Final reports

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED

Experience with crowd control, security and/or ticket operations at large outdoor events helpful. Good verbal skills, able to interact with public and large diverse staff and communicate effectively via two-way radio. Clean police record. Endurance for standing long hours in an active and stressful production setting working outdoors in ALL weather conditions.
