Position Description
Personnel Technicians perform a wide variety of personnel activities including personnel records processing, recruitment and examining, new hire orientation, list certification, and payroll support duties.
The Division of Welfare and Supportive Services is recruiting to fill a Personnel Technician II position within the Human Resource unit in Las Vegas. Under direct supervision of the Personnel Analyst I, the incumbent will process routine personnel actions; conduct employee orientations; maintain the Personnel database; and provide general personnel rule, policy, and regulation information to employees. The ideal candidate would thrive in this fast paced, high volume environment that supports an agency of 2,000 employees, bringing an ability to multitask, prioritize their work multiple times a day in order to meet deadlines, and have attention for detail.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of technical personnel/payroll experience; OR one year of experience as a Personnel Technician I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
