We are in search of a Pest Control Technician to report to our main office in West Hartford. This is a full-time, year-round position in an industry that has proven to be recession-proof. Qualified candidates should have a proven track record of excellent job performance and "handyman" experience. Experience in pest control is not required, but proficiency with small hand tools, power tools, and handheld computers is preferred. Previous experience in carpentry, construction, masonry, or painting is a bonus.

Job Duties Include:

• Inspecting customers’ premises to identify evidence of pest activity
• Inspecting structures for potential pest entry points, including exterior perimeters, garages, sheds, decks, porches etc.
• Properly mixing, storing, and applying pesticides in accordance with all applicable laws and DEEP regulations
• Reading and understanding chemical labels and internal communications in English
• Providing recommendations to customers for services that are applicable to them based on their pest activity
• Collecting payments for services rendered and submitting to the office
• Photographing areas of concern and completing reports of any findings
• Maintaining accurate records of hours worked, chemicals used and payments collected
• Driving a company vehicle to various work sites in a timely manner while following all road rules

Job duties vary and additional tasks may be assigned at the discretion of the supervisor based on the demands of the business.

Education & Requirements:

• A clean & valid CT driver's license with a clean driving record
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions
• Proficiency with small handheld tools, power tools, and computers
• Ability to work outdoors in potentially demanding environments, including snow, rain, and heat
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds as well as sit, stand, bend, and kneel for extended lengths of time
• Weekend availability the ability to work long hours during peak summer season
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to work well both independently and as a part of a team
• Reliable transportation to our headquarters in West Hartford
• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Must be okay with dogs! (We treat our dogs like family and routinely have 3 dogs in the office)
