NEEDED: Phlebotomist

LOCATION: 501 Capital Circle NE, Tallahassee, FL 32301

SCHEDULE / HOURS: Monday - Friday (except for Federal holidays), 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• U.S. Citizen
• 6 months documented experience as a Phlebotomist.
• Must be a graduate of an accredited Phlebotomist program.
• Must be CPR/AED certified.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Not limited to the following...

• Provide nursing care to include, taking and recording patient history, vital signs, making appointments, assisting PA’s and physicians in clinical activities.
• Perform venipuncture from patients for analysis or other medical purposes when necessary.
• Collect and process Urinalysis.
• Operation of EKG machine, and other special medical apparatus and equipment within the Health Services Unit.
• Will assist PAs and visiting clinical specialty consultants in the management and coordination of patient flow through the chronic care clinic, preventive health care clinics, and general clinics when scheduled.
• Will provide assistance in entering data for pap smears.
• Will assist in keeping a current pap smear roster for the providers.
• Will assist providers in the urgent care room when necessary.
• General nursing duties
• Maintain supplies in all exam rooms.
• Screening eye exams and assist physicians and mid-level practitioners in minor surgical cases.
• Maintain daily sick call list and place inmates on call out as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
