Lead the Physical Security Operations Team in the EMEA region as part of the Physical Security & Resiliency (PS&R) organization at VMware, an industry leader in cloud services. What is primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?
VMware’s highest priority is the safety and security of our employees. The Senior manager physical security EMEA will implement and manage a full range of security policies, programs and resources across the EMEA region. The position will be responsible for Stake holder management, risk management planning, Physical Security staffing, Contract renewals, Security Planning and emergency response. The focus will be on continuous improvement and innovation. This role will manage and oversee contracted security resources to provide the most cost effective officer force to meet the hazards faced.

Enhance the Physical Security posture in the EMEA region
Establish strong working relationships and trust with key leaders and teams in the region
Align team members to a common purpose and bring the team together to operate as a high performing organization
Establish strong working relationships with key individuals and teams across the global PS&R, Info Sec, IT & Workplace teams that will be essential to accomplishing the regional PS&R objectives
Remain flexible to ever changing environment; adapt well to different situations
What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
Encompasses physical security and systems, risk analyses, large event security, travel security, executive protection support, investigations, contingency planning and crisis management support.
Assist leadership team in identifying, implementing and maintaining security practices, policies and training.
Leads Security related communications, promotes security awareness, uses communications channels to facilitate the distribution of time sensitive security information.
Monitor and report on each site/country risk management plan, including periodic on-site visits.
Advise leadership on risks in new geographies.
Facilitate the development and delivery of employee training and awareness related to travel safety and security.
Manage relationships with outside providers who support travel safety and medical/emergency response.
Partner with training and event planning teams to mitigate security risks at on and off-site locations by coordinating needed security precautions.
Work closely with Work Place by ensuring security risks and requirements are factored into site selection/building processes.
Provide input and recommendations to senior management teams on matters relate to security and crisis response.
Maintain liaison with local, national and international law enforcement , government agencies, industry organizations to collect information relating to the security of VMware.
Manage the emergency response programme in accordance with local Health and safety legislation.
Manage budgets and establish and monitor contract performance with eternal vendors.
Work closely with the resiliency team to establish plans & be able to respond to critical issues that impact VMware security posture.
Have a strong understanding of Data Privacy legislation in particular GDPR.
What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?
This position reports into the Director of Physical Security & Resiliency (PS&R) EMEA & America’s Micheal Fitzgerald who in turn reports to the Global Head of Physical Security & Resiliency (PS&R).
The position will be based out of Sofia, Bulgaria.
The broader PS&R organization is responsible for global Physical Security, Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and executing the Resiliency governance framework that includes BCP, Disaster Recovery, Crisis Management & Emergency Response. PS&R is a highly distributed & diverse team with team members located across the world and proudly representing various ethnic backgrounds & nationalities as ONE team. The team operates in a highly collaborative manner and focuses on building strong business partnerships & trust with its various stakeholders to achieve our shared objectives.
