PLC Technician

2nd and 3rd shift (must be open to both shifts)

Starting Pay - $90,000-$100,000

Description:

This position will work under the director of the Sr. Automation Engineer and will assist the Electrical Maintenance Staff to help troubleshooting automation and control breakdowns. The goal for this position is get the Automation Engineers back in the office more to work on capital improvement projects, rather than on the floor troubleshooting.

• Working on the manufacturing floor alongside team of electrical maintenance technicians
• Troubleshooting PLCs/Electronics and automation equipment, and assisting with the repairs
• Constant communication between maintenance team and Automation Engineers
• Coaching, supervising, and training how to execute front line troubleshooting on equipment
• Driving new maintenance mentality of creating a proactive maintenance environment
• Coordinating with maintenance shift supervisor to plan daily maintenance activities
• Performing root cause analysis and “5-why” techniques with the goal to eliminate maintenance downtime

some machinery includes -

• Large hydraulic presses (8,000 ton, 5000 ton)
• Furnaces
• Saws
• Conveyors
• Robots
• This employee will be apart of the wheels business

• Supplementary pay plan – in addition to salary OT is paid in blocks of 2 hours ($125), 4 hours ($250), 8 hours ($500)
• Will be paid $250/month for working 3rd (shift differential)

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Mechanical aptitude/hydraulics a huge plus
• Experience with combustion and process control systems a plus

• Preferred Associates Degree in electronics, electrical technology, controls, and/or automation
