N114 Warfighter Space Services Department delivers innovative, world-class products and services, to enable effective and resilient warfighting capabilities that the United States Space Force (USSF) can use to defeat threats and dominate the Space domain. The N114 work portfolio supports diverse military missions including resilient PNT (positioning, navigation, and timing), modernized Missile Warning, Battlespace Awareness, and Technical Intelligence. N114 employs world class systems engineering, PNT, remote sensing, space cyber, and digital engineering SMEs to help our sponsors solve the nation’s Space challenges of today and tomorrow.
As a member of our Space Services Department team, you will help solve our nation's most technically challenging problems and work in the public interest building a more capable and resilient space enterprise. This work will be conducted collaboratively with multiple MITRE and government organizations. You will fill the role as the MITRE Technical PNT Enterprise Engineering Support to the Space Systems Command (SSC) MilComm and PNT (MCPNT).
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the MITRE engagement leader and key technical advisor to MCPNT Government Leadership in following PNT mission areas - NAVWAR, and GPS Enterprise Modernization, Requirements, Test & Integration, and Futures.
- Perform system engineering trade studies, analyze systems, requirements and architectures, and evaluate technologies to support investment recommendations for near-term and future PNT architectures.
- Evaluate and recommend feasible and effective integration actions, technical baseline changes, and technology insertion initiatives and advocate for these recommendations with stakeholders.
- Collaborate and interface directly with a wide range of Government and non-Government, technical and non-technical personnel to explain and advocate for MITRE’s technical recommendations.
- Lead, collaborate and share ideas within the MITRE team to evaluate proposed changes to the GPS Enterprise, identify potential concerns, and recommend solutions
- Identify and review risks that could impair GPS performance or prevent it from satisfying its mission requirements and develop mitigation plans.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field, and a minimum of 10 years of related experience or M.S. degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience; or a PhD with 5 years’ experience.
- Demonstrated technical depth in the field of Systems Engineering, Systems of systems engineering, and space systems engineering.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Demonstrated ability to build collaboration across organizational units.
- Communicates highly conceptual ideas effectively.
- The ability to think critically and be proactive in pursuing research and problem-solving with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret clearance.
- Reconized expertise in GPS program of records and familiarity with GPS Control, Space, and User Equipment to include interface control and signal design.
- Familiarity with other United States Space Force (USSF) mission systems and architectures.
