Responsibilities

• Closely watches people in the pool in order to warn against inappropriate activity and to be cognizant of any need for personal assistance.
• Controls the number of people in the pool at any given time to ensure that the pool is not overcrowded,
• Enforces the property's rules at all times for use of and activity in and around the pool, including wearing appropriate attire.
• Cleans and test the pool each morning before the pool is open, and as needed during and at the end of each day.
• Ensures the pool area is always clean and in good repair, with the responsibility for calling the Certified Pool Operator (CPO) as needed for maintenance and/or cleaning assistance.
• Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
• Responsible for opening and closing the pool area at the appropriate times each day the pool is open. Includes sanitizing pool furniture and facilities are cleaned.
• Ensures that all gates to the area are locked at the end of each day.
• Ensure that food and beverages are not brought into the pool area.
• All pool attendants must dress appropriately in the prescribed uniform and be neat and groomed at all times.
• Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical service.
• Performs and maintains appropriate activity reports.
• Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all residents, families, visitors, vendors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
• Follows and adheres to all WinnSafe policies, practices and procedures.
• Commits to recognize and respect cultural diversity for all customers (internal and external).
• Communicates effectively with internal and external customers with respect of differences in cultures, values, beliefs and ages, utilizing interpreters when needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Red Cross Lifeguard certification (includes CPR) required, which will be reimbursed.
• Ability to use sound judgment and problem solving skills
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Skills in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue technique.
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have excellent customer service skills
