Department Overview:

Provide support with all aspects of research, including the development and programming of behavioral experiments, training and supervision of rodents on cognitive tasks, conducting neurophysiological recordings in rodents, day to day animal husbandry, rodent surgeries, manuscript preparation, and presentation of research to the scientific community. This is a full-time program of advanced academic preparation and research training under the guidance of a supervising faculty mentor.

Function/Duties of Position:

• Planning and designing research experiments; establishing priorities and recommending schedules, time tables and costs.
• Data collection, processing and analysis, including statistical analyses; presentation/publication of project results.
• Production of grant requests (national and local)
• Assist PI in training and supervision of staff, graduate assistants, and student employees.

Required Qualifications:

Education: PhD in Neuroscience, Psychology or related field

Experience: Hands-on knowledge with methods related to the systems neuroscience of rodent behavior

Competencies: Experimental design, statistical analyses, rodent behavior, various surgical techniques.

Additional Details:

Working Conditions: M-F up to 8 hours/day, some weekend/evening work may be required.

Physical Demands & Equipment Usage: Ability to sit/stand for continuous hours at lab bench, computer station, work station
