The mission of St. Patrick Catholic School is to provide an exceptional educational experience built upon faith, academics, and service, within a Catholic community that exemplifies the teachings of Jesus Christ. St. Patrick School has roughly 500 students in Preschool through Eighth Grade and has been providing a quality education to the White Lake community for over 65 years!
We seek highly skilled, Christ-centered, Catholic educators for potential elementary school teaching positions for the 2023-24 school year. An ideal candidate would possess strong teaching skills with a grasp on standards and curriculum, effective classroom management, clear and concise communication skills, a willingness to take on additional roles and responsibilities, and a strong Catholic Christian identity.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with endorsement
- Strong example of Catholic Christian faith
- Catechist certification (or willingness to attain certification within the school year)
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, parents, and staff
- Strong communication, technology, and organizational skills
- Competency in student management and supervision
- Must take Protecting God's Children class
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, prepare, and implement instruction and assessments in accordance with school guidelines and AOD standards
- Appropriately leverage educational technology to enhance student learning in partnership with traditional teaching methods
- Successfully manage students in a Catholic Christian manner
- Maintains a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment
- Adheres to class schedules and is timely in regards to school events and required start and end times to the day.
- Effectively communicate with students, parents, and staff members
- Differentiate instruction to reasonably meet the needs of all students
- Continually assess student learning formally and informally, using Star360, running records, and classroom-based assessments, and use assessment data to drive instruction
- Support and implement school initiatives
- Attend to job requirements outside school hours, such as parent-teacher conferences, committees, meetings, retreats, etc.
- Model Catholic Christian faith, behavior, and academic inquiry
- Maintains positive relationships with other faculty and staff members, keeping information regarding students, parents, and/or school business strictly confidential
- Perform other non-instructional duties such as attendance, lunch, recess, and dismissal duty, committees, etc., and fully take part in the mission and vision of the school as a part of a collaborative teaching team
- Supports the mission and vision of the school by promoting the Catholic faith and the teachings of the Church and witnesses this faith through personal example
