JOB SUMMARY:

Under broad supervision, instructs or trains clients and/or students in a specific area of assignment as part of a program that includes an organized agenda of practical and workforce readiness instruction. May serve as lead worker.

JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES:

This position requires a great deal of skill and expertise in area of C-Tech (Certified Engineering Technologist) as well as multi -tasking with other duties with Graduate students. The instructor will have the duties and responsibilities of teaching

• Introduction to Telecommunication
• Introduction to Copper-Based Systems
• Introduction to Network Cabling

The instructor will serve as a certified trained-trainer for all C-Tech programs in our school system. The instructor will be required to facilitate quarterly PL with other instructors and provide tech support in C-Tech's student portals.

In addition to teaching and managing the C-Tech Program, the instructor will be responsible for teaching all graduates in the CGP (Connections Graduate Program) Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to help students make informed career decisions.

• Assist and guide students through occupational exploration and the career-making process.
• Assist graduates in reentry and transition back into their local communities.
• Determine appropriate assessments and interventions required to assist students. Analyze and interpret career assessment results and incorporate in career counseling/job search coaching sessions.
• Teach and coach students in self-directed job search strategies. Provide resume/cover letter critiques and interview skills training. Engage students in use of library and on-li8ne resources for researching employers and current employment opportunities.
• Develop and conduct career and job search workshops. Promote recruitment services and engage students in participating in the on-line job listing service, resume referral, on-campus interviews, career fairs and other career events.
• Assist with and/or coordinate logistical and administrative details for career fairs, graduate fairs, on-campus interview schedules, job listing service and special career events.
• Helping students develop post-secondary educational plans in accordance with their interests, abilities, and career plans.
• Assist students with the completion of college admissions applications.
• Manage students that are in Online College Courses (ECore)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor`s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
• OR Associate`s degree from an accredited college or university
• OR Vocational/Technical degree in area of assignment from an accredited college AND Two years of experience in the area of assignment
• OR One year of experience required at the lower level Practical Instructor 2 (EDT011) or position equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess the following:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.

• Career counseling and/or teaching experience.
• SRT-4 or higher certification.
