Job Title: Precast Concrete Specialist

Department: Production

Reports to: Plant Manager

Salary Range: $17-$19 p/hour

Job Summary:

The Precast Concrete Specialist will perform a wide range of skilled physical labor tasks independently and as a team to complete projects.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Carrying, assembling, and setting Symons panels.

· Prepares work area where forms will be set by properly measuring, marking, recording openings or distances.

· Operates a wide variety of hand and power tools.

· Carry forms, clean tools, tie rebar, and use a rebar bender.

· Cleaning and inspecting surfaces for pouring issues.

· Set-up, pour, and finish concrete to all tolerances and specifications with attention to detail to provide an acceptable uniform product.

· Set, strip forms, pour and finish flatwork.

· Set forms to line and level.

· Advanced wood working experience.

· Knowledge of how to properly read and understand construction plans, sketches, and blueprints.

• Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying and climbing)
• Bolt, nail, align and block under forms.
• Work harmoniously and cooperatively with others at all times.
• Follow directions and instructions from supervisors.
• Perform a variety of tasks and duties that may change often as the work conditions require.
• Work within defined standards of accuracy.
• Work within defined standards of safety.
• Must be able to erect and disassemble shoring, braces, and other temporary structures.
• Must have the ability to align, straighten, plumb, and square forms to the required elevation.

· Cleans jobsite at the end of the day, ensuring trash is properly disposed of and materials or equipment are properly stored.

· Must be able to operate overhead crane safely.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions.

· Ability to remain flexible as specific assignments change.

· Ability to work with a variety of personalities.

· Ability to work independently.

· Ability to perform basic arithmetic as needed to count and measure.

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening & physical.
• Requires the ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed properly.
• Possess a strong work ethic and desire to learn.

Education and Experience:

• Concrete finishing: 2 years (Preferred)

· High School diploma (Preferred).

· Must be at least 18 years of age.

Physical Requirements:

· Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.

· Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push and/or pull 50-pound loads at a time.

· Must be able to stand and walk up to eight hours per day while carrying materials weighing between 40 and 60 pounds.

· Requires ability to climb and maintain balance on ladder.

• Requires good manual dexterity; may be standing, bending, kneeling or sitting for long periods.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
