Who we are and what we're looking for:

The Sycamore is seeking a full-time prep cook/dishwasher to add to our talented team in the kitchen that has prior kitchen experience, is eager to learn, and able to adapt and grow as our team does the same. If food is your passion, we can help facilitate and grow that passion.

Locally owned and operated, The Sycamore is a fine dining restaurant located inside the historic Chatham Mills of Pittsboro, NC. We operate with a focus on the Chefs and their talents, using as many local meat and produce purveyors as possible to produce the highest quality possible, as well as changing our menus seasonally.

Hours of Operation and Pay

We value our employees time off. Sunday and Monday off nearly every week, Tuesday is daytime prep only, Wednesday/Thursday/Friday/Saturday are dinner service days with service beginning at 5pm and ending at 9pm each evening. Wednesday evenings we will be open starting August 24th, 2022.

Pay is on a bi-weekly schedule and will be determined based on experience and may exceed what is listed on the job posting.

Responsibilities

• Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
• Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
• Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
• Clean up station and take care of leftover food
• Stock inventory appropriately
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Skills

• Proven cooking experience, including experience as a prep cook, dishwasher, or other relevant kitchen experience
• Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
• Familiar with industry’s best practices

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
