Job description

Includes the minimum of the following:

Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times, being alert for the needs and/or problems of the children as individuals and as a group.

· Assist assigned team teacher in every way possible, which may include, but is not necessarily limited to:

· Assist in the planning of curriculum in detail for assigned classes.

· Implement the daily program for assigned classes.

· Assist with children observation and anecdotal notes.

· Decorate the room with bulletin boards, pictures, children’s artwork and other hangings.

· Prepare children’s snack.

· Provide cultural diverse activities.

· Sit with children while they eat in order to engage in a dinner table atmosphere.

· Keep door area, classrooms, storage areas and bathrooms clean, neat and orderly.

· Report to Supervisor/Director and Child Abuse Hotline of any cases of suspected child abuse or neglect immediately. You are required to report abuse incidents within 24 hours or occurrences.

· Report to Supervisor/Director any special needs or problems of individual children.

· Attend regular staff planning and evaluation meetings.

· Be on time and maintain your attendance. Excellent attendance is required to have a smooth operation program.

· Informal meetings with parents during class time are to be limited to 2 minutes unless Administration is advised and arrangements have been made for supervision of children.

· Inform LeadTeacher/Supervisors in advance of any programmatic supplies that are needed.

· Handle discipline promptly and in accordance with the stated policy on discipline.

· Participates in professional growth activities

· Assists and supervises in the development and maintenance of an appropriate indoor and outdoor environment

· Supervises and directly interacts with families and children in a warm and positive manner

· Presents a positive view of the center to the community

· Develops and assists in facilitating parent programs and events

· Promotes and enhances children’s families’ participation in all program events

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
