Summary

The Principal Software Engineer role will focus on the technical processes related to software development and will assist in managing the overall vision, roadmap and implementation of new software systems. This role will work as a team member along with Business Stakeholders, Software Engineers, Quality Assurance Engineers, and Solutions Architect to deliver a complete solution for the business.

This position will report to the Software Engineering Manager within the Internal Applications department.

Responsibilities

• Will collaborate with management, architects, product owners, stakeholders, software developers and quality analysts to bring projects into Production

• Will assist in creating and maintaining application roadmaps that maintain the integrity and performance of our systems and satisfies the business need of fast value delivery

• Will partner with peers to improve strategy, quality and governance of our systems

• Will analyze and solve performance problems; Improving application reliability and responsiveness

• Will communicate ideas, issues, status, and outcomes with teams and managers

• Will influence and present strategic options to ensure needed outcomes and solutions

• Will create technical documentation

• Lead, coach and train other developers to create a positive work culture

• Lead the establishing of best practices

Requirements

• 10+ Years of experience in a Software Developer role or similar role

  • 5+ Years of experience .Net and/or .Net Core

• Understanding of design principles, threading, real-time processing, and SQL Server DB queries and performance tuning

• Demonstrated experience in coaching , building developer teams and ensure standards are aligned with best practices

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills

• Excellent organizational skills with attention to details

• Experience developing in a cloud environment (Azure, GCP, AWS)

• Microservices/restful api

• Database experience (SQL, noSQL)

Preferred Experience/Education

• Azure certified

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science

• Experience in the payment industry

• Passionate about unit testing and TDD

• Experience with managing a large code base that is a mixture of legacy code and modern technology, preferable experience with moving legacy code to the cloud

• Working with remote teams (onshore, nearshore, offshore)

• Knowledge of HTML, RabbitMQ, Mocking Frameworks, IOC Frameworks, Cloud, Containerization, Data Privacy

• Experience in the payment industry

• Kubernetes, pubsub

• Continuous Integration (DevOps mindset)

• SAFe certified
