Job Summary


Serves as hands-on leader who works with leaders and cross-functional teams on key process improvement initiatives contributing to the university's overall strategic plan while driving a culture of continuous improvement. Collaborates with senior leadership to prioritize projects and review results, managing cross-functional teams, and making presentations to stakeholders to introduce changed/new processes and project results. Duties also include managing improvement projects at the department to enterprise level and assisting in the development and documentation of policies and procedures.

Responsibilities


1. Collaborates with campus leaders on process and performance improvement opportunities centered around improvement of the student experience
2. Applies excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to successfully work with all levels of leadership, management, staff, students and contractors
3. Influence and lead cross-functional teams in an environment of competing interests and limited resources
4. Resolves complex issues with innovative solutions
5. Performs comprehensive business process reviews to determine specific areas of improvement and develop process improvement plans using process improvement framework tools (such as DMAIC)
6. Implements, modifies and assesses progress on improvement plans and achievement programs
7. Implements key business measures used to gauge the effectiveness and performance of a process or department
8. Recommends innovative business and technical solutions to improve operational efficiencies, effectiveness and overall customer and/or student experience
9. Researches and identifies opportunities to develop common procedures and best practices from within the industry
10. Serves as subject matter expert for the industry, communicating industry and trade best practices
11. Oversees all process improvement projects, track project plans, and collaborate with project leads to ensure appropriate completion and provide monthly reports to senior management
12. Validates process improvement projects are successful, intervening as necessary to adjust
13. Supports the development of policies and procedures that promote continuous improvement
14. Educates and train on process management methodology and ideas, problem solving and prevention
15. Performs special studies and coordinate projects aimed at improving processes and practices at Kennesaw State University


Required Qualifications


Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in business or related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience

Other Required Qualifications
Yellow Belt in Lean, Six Sigma, Process Management Professional Certification, and/or Project Management Certification, or ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire

Required Experience
One (1) year of experience in process improvement function, including running large process improvement projects, lean quality improvement methodology, data collection, and data analysis.

Preferred Qualifications


Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's in Business Administration

Preferred Experience
Previous experience in higher education preferred

Proposed Salary


COMPENSATION

The budgeted hiring range is $60,000 to $75,000. Offers are based on relevant experience.
