Who You'll Work With
You will be based in our Dublin or Lisbon office as part of our QuantumBlack Labs group. However, we've all been working remotely as of late and will continue to do so for now.
For over ten years, QuantumBlack has been at the forefront of AI and machine learning solutions for advanced analytics business applications. Serving clients who are the global leaders in their respective fields, our teams of world-class data scientists, data engineers, and business experts rely on specialist software created by QuantumBlack Labs, our innovation and product engineering group.
Operating like an “internal start-up”, we build software that facilitates, accelerates, and enables the development and deployment of AI/machine learning solutions. These tools draw on the latest insights from our client work and research & development efforts, and deliver solutions as part of delightful experiences. We’ve already done a lot to be proud of, such as:
- Building frameworks and libraries for data scientists and data engineers to work on large-scale, complex analytics projects (we open-sourced our award-winning Kedro)
- Creating an “internal open-source” platform to share and reuse machine learning models and other technical assets
- Designing products that can explain complex data landscapes and insights through novel visualizations
- Codifying the methodology by which we deliver advanced analytics projects to our clients

What You'll Do
As a Product Designer at QuantumBlack, you will work alongside senior designers to create products and experiences that shape and define how advanced analytics leads to real-world impact on a massive scale.
Your users will be analytics professionals who apply machine learning and other analytics techniques at some of the most eminent companies the world over. Your environment will be full of learning opportunities, support, and a healthy dose of fun.
You will be able to engage in and learn about:
- Research & Strategy– Obtaining an understanding of our technical colleagues’ workflows through qualitative user research, and collaborating closely with product managers to draft the products’ vision and break it down into concrete near-term actions.
- Concept creation and prototyping– Coming up with innovative ideas in response to users’ challenges while collaborating with your team, then testing them to identify the right path ahead.
- Crafting compelling visual designs– Leveraging a library of existing components you will work with other designers to bring your vision to life and deliver assets for our engineering teams to work from.
- Analyzing outcomes– Using data and follow-up conversations to identify opportunities for further improvement.
- Growing our capability– You will scale your impact outside your immediate product team by sharing new insights with other product teams, and your approaches with other designers, so we can all keep improving together.
You will fit right in at QuantumBlack Labs because you are passionate about finding user problems worth solving, and creating compelling and delightful experiences in response. To do so, you apply a broad range of research and design methods across the entire end-to-end product development cycle, with a keen interest in human, business, and technology aspects. Qualifications
- Graduate degree in design, human computer interaction or a related field
- 2 years of experience in digital end-to-end product design
- Holds a portfolio demonstrating approach to user research and product design
- Experience with Figma or other design tools for wireframing, prototyping and visual design
- Knowledge of UX research practices, design patterns and methodologies
- Understanding of agile software development and experience designing for technical users are a plus
- Objective and data-driven approach to demonstrating the business impact of designs
