Position's Contributions to Work Group:

As a Product Engineer supporting the Electromagnetic Actuator & Valve Team, you will play a vital role in the research, design, and maintenance of electro-mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes. Specifically, you will be responsible for supporting engine actuators that control air, gas, and fluid flow for various new development and product support projects. Your contributions will include project support, firmware development, hands-on testing, and collaborating with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and testing labs to ensure successful product launches and resolution of existing product issues. Domestic travel may occasionally be required for this position.

Typical Task Breakdown:

Your daily tasks will be dynamic and varied, depending on the specific projects and phases you are working on. You will collaborate with system teams, suppliers, and testing labs, ensuring the success of new products and resolving any issues with existing products. Expect to handle multiple high-priority projects, keeping your days fast-paced and engaging. As a new engineer on the team, you will spend a significant amount of time in our component testing labs at Mossville Building AC and our engine test labs at our nearby Technical Center.

Education & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering required
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience (experience in both ME & EE engineering domains is preferred)
  • Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering can be considered as two years of experience
  • PhD in relevant fields will be considered overqualified

Skills Required:

  • Proficiency with typical computer applications and software used in the engineering field
  • Understanding of engine and emission control systems
  • Work experience with similar products will be highly regarded
  • Familiarity with air/fluid electrical valves, torque motors, engine control valves, etc.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Team player with attention to detail
  • Willingness to perform hands-on lab work

Skills Desired:

  • Understanding of electricity and magnetism and its application in actuating mechanical and hydraulic mechanisms
  • Ability to create detailed and actionable verification and validation test plans based on product knowledge and application risk assessment
  • Experience working with internal and supplier test labs, as well as field testing sites
  • Proficiency in interpreting GD&T, technical drawings, and schematics

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $65,000.00 - $84,500.00 per year
