Job Title: Production Cleaner
Department: Materials
Reports to: Production Manager
Location: Detroit Lakes, MN
Working with a production team or individually, the Production Cleaner is responsible for all aspects of sanitation and cleaning the production facility.
Essential Functions
Maintains cleanliness in production breakrooms and bathrooms by sweeping, mopping, wiping down tables, cleaning the toilets, sinks, restocking toilet paper and paper towels.- Sanitizes commonly touched areas such as doorknobs, copy machines, breakroom appliances, etc.
- Carries out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects.
- Assists in production sweeping and excess material removal.
- Collects and removes trash from all areas within the production facility ensuring proper disposal of trash, chemicals, and other hazardous materials.
- Restocks common area supplies.
- Identifies potential safety hazards and notifies employees using warning signs.
- Notifies managers of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs.
- Identifies and gathers cleaning tools and materials needed using specifications of the work order.
- Maintains inventory, tools, and supplies.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of work area.
- Works in a safe manner and follows all health and safety policies including wearing appropriate PPE.
- Maintains a favorable working relationship with all employees to promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment.
- Attend monthly safety committee meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
The position lifts heavy objects up to 50 pounds, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs physical labor in a climate-controlled environment. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints, or throws objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Travel
Travel is primarily not expected in this role.
Experience
- Ability to follow verbal and written directions.
- Ability to organize, communicate and follow a cleaning schedule.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds comfortably and consistently.
Education
High school diploma or Equivalent required.
