We are currently seeking a Production Manager to join our West Winds Coffee Manufacturing organization. This person will be responsible for managing all aspects of production at West Winds including cost, quality, service, and people. This position reports to the VP of Manufacturing and each of the 2 West Winds Supervisors report to this position.

Job Functions:

• Communicates and works with other operational departments (QA, Engineering, Maintenance, etc.) to optimize production capabilities and meet customer service requirements.
• Communicates closely with Production Planning on work schedules and coffee requirements to support Packaging operations and ensure service requirements are met.
• Ensures that all required production paperwork and reporting requirements are implemented and completed to required standards.
• Ensures that all employees follow GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and quality/ISO/SQF processes and procedures related to West Winds operations.
• Ensures a safe working environment and compliance with all Westrock policies and procedures as well as OSHA and other regulatory bodies.
• Monitors and continually drives improvement of departmental Key Performance Indicators through the application of Lean Manufacturing principles, the PDCA cycle, MDI boards and other Short-interval controls and employee engagement.
• Coaches, mentors and motivates staff to build morale, facilitate team work and increase production.
• Ensures accurate employee record keeping by Supervisors (e-time, attendance tracking, etc.)
• Conducts formal performance reviews of supervisors and ensures their continual professional development through personal coaching, individual development plans, and formal training programs.
• Maintains disciplinary procedures in accordance with Westrock policy and ensures consistent application of all Westrock policies and procedures within the Packaging Operation.
• Ensures prompt follow-up and corrective actions related to employee relations issues.
• Oversees period end inventory for all packaging material inventory within the department.
• Manages labor and material costs to achieve budget expectations.
• Thorough understanding of both Process and Packaging department capabilities including capacity and utilization
• Ensures that production area is clean and neat at all times and drives improvement in work area layout.
• Fosters and drives an environment of Continuous Improvement within the West Winds operation.
• Completes other duties as assigned by the VP of Manufacturing.

Qualifications:

• 5 years supervisory/management experience preferably in a production environment.
• BA/BS preferred. Associate's Degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong working knowledge of Windows applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access)
• Strong operating knowledge of NetSuite Oracle operating systems.
• Strong technical skills and ability.
• Strong leadership skills, including ability to effectively coach and develop staff
• Strong logical, mechanical, and analytical skills.
• Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the shift, manipulating (lifting, carrying, moving) items weighing 10-50 lbs. as needed throughout the shift.
• Ability to operate a forklift as needed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Goal oriented and highly motivated individual.
• Ability to effectively establish working relationships with various Westrock departments/supervisors/management.
• Ability to work weekends and overtime as needed.
