SPECIFIC PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:

This position will function as The MFP Program Housing Coordinator

In this role, the primary focus will be expanding the inventory of qualified residences for people with disabilities and older adults by working closely with housing entities. You will be responsible working with stakeholders, local, state, private and federal agencies to maximize the use of existing housing resources and will develop a comprehensive housing registry for program participants.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • The coordinator must understand the basics of landlord-tenant law, rental contracts, and fair housing requirements, to assist landlords, program participants, and case managers.
  • The coordinator will work with various housing entities including Arkansas’s Housing and Finance Authority, local public housing authorities and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in support of expanding access to accessible, affordable, and integrated housing options for people with disabilities and seniors transitioning out of institutional settings and into the community.
  • Work with case managers, match program participants’ needs and choices with housing options across the state.
  • Market the MFP program to prospective landlord partners by visiting their properties, making presentations to associations and groups, holding landlord recruitment events and so on for rental units accessible to program participants.
  • The coordinator will work with various entities to eliminate barriers to accessing affordable housing.
  • The coordinator will work to increase affordable/accessible housing units through relationship building.
  • Create, maintain, and regularly update the housing options inventory with detailed information to assist in matching program participants with housing options that are suitable.
  • Complete required monthly and annual report forms.
  • Perform other housing duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.

Preferences:

  • Must have a verifiable background in the housing industry.
  • Must understand fair housing law.
  • Previous background in a housing position; or working with local, state, or federal housing entities is highly desirable.

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, social work, business, public administration, or a related field; plus three years of experience in human services or a related field, including one year in a supervisory or leadership capacity.

Salary/Benefits:

This position provides a competitive starting salary of $45,010.00 depending on qualifications, and excellent benefits including group health and life insurance, state retirement plan, paid maternity leave after 1 year, holidays and annual leave time off.
