Project Lead (Fire Fighting and Damage Control Modernization)Location: This position will be located in Mayport, Florida.
KBR is seeking a Project Lead to join our Team in support of our Surface Warfare Schools Command (SWSC) customer. You will serve as a project lead for the Fire Fighting and Damage Control Trainer Modernization project, proving oversight for the N79 Directorate Trainer Modernization project at learning sites Mayport, FL. Norfolk, VA. San Diego, CA. Pearl Harbor, HI. Great Lakes, IL. Yokosuka, Japan and Newport, RI.
Role and Responsibilities:
Provides SME support for the trainer modernization projects at numerous learning sites.
Communicates with field personnel, US Navy staff, shipyard and Government representatives to accomplish project milestones and goals.
Reviews and coordinates with NAVFAC such matters as scheduling; resolves such problems as siting, relationship to other existing structures.
Serves as the project representative with outside agencies such as NAVFAC, PWD and local activities during design and construction phases.
Monitors construction progress, through the respective executive agent to avoid slippages of schedules and budgets in compliance with contract documents. Where slippage occurs, contacts concerned stakeholders.
Provides oversight and assists professional consultants and contractors in the development of, and with the monitoring of, defined scopes of work, delivery schedules, and cost estimates.
Determines the need for and propose contract modifications and substitution of materials.
Serves as primary liaison between stakeholders and vendors driving cross-organizational issues and projects to resolution.
Tracks and reports installation work performance and progress.
Performs routine and periodic site visits and perform inspection of existing buildings.
Develop, review, and monitors project-specific scopes of work, schedules.
Attends and participates in project meetings.
Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience, plus at least 10 years of related experience.
Must have experience monitoring construction progress and reporting on possible slippages of schedules and budgets challenges.
Must have experience performing inspection of existing buildings.
Must have experience communicating with field personnel, US Navy staff, shipyard and Government representatives to accomplish project milestones.
Prior experience preparing reports and briefings for senior leadership, to include experience with writing material condition deficiency reports, discrepancy reports to identify damaged, degraded equipment, diagnose source of damage or degradation, and recommend a repair plan.
Knowledge of standard Navy Maintenance Availability planning process is a plus.
Knowledge of the standard Navy Modernization Availability planning process is a plus.
An active secret level security clearance is required.
Must be able to travel to multiple training sites.
