We are looking for a skilled Buyer and Purchasing Manager to work as part of our Head Office Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the company’s overall purchasing and pricing, and also work as part of the Sales and Buying team across areas of NPD, Promotions and category management. Reporting to the Directors, this is a full-time hybrid working role, based 2-3 days a week at Nourish Head Office in Santry.


Key Responsibilities:


Purchasing and pricing

  • Design, implement, and oversee the pricing strategy for Nourish to ensure we are both competitive and profitable.
  • Create and manage purchasing systems & processes to support the overall buying function at Nourish.
  • Analyse promotions, discounts, and overall sales to ensure target margins are achieved.
  • Work with Operations team to ensure stock supply and delivery schedules match business needs, using a data-driven approach to continuously improve on-shelf availability.
  • Forecast product demand and adjust purchasing in accordance with trends.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with suppliers to enable easier procurement of products.
  • Support Store Managers with purchasing and orders when required.
  • Work with the Accounts team to analyse, adjust and maintain margin.
  • Support other areas of the business with the purchasing function as required.

Sales & Buying

  • Work as part of the Sales and Buying team to:
    • Design a promotional calendar that will bring value for our customers and maximise sales.
    • Ensure Nourish’s product range is appropriate to our customer’s needs
    • Analyse past sales patterns to anticipate trends in buying patterns
    • Analyse profitability of ranges vs the space they are allocated
    • Source and build relations with new suppliers

Other

  • Work closely with Retail Operations, HR, Training and Marketing teams to support stores and maximise sales.
  • Contribute to improving Nourish systems and processes and the Nourish EPOS system.
  • Contribute fully and flexibly as part of the overall Nourish team.

Key requirements:

  • 3-5 years’ experience as a Stock Controller, Purchasing Manager or similar role. Retail experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of EPOS system(s).
  • Must have strong excel skills.
  • Highly numerate with strong attention to detail and accuracy skills.
  • Outstanding organisational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to react quickly in a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to plan and manage your workload accordingly.
