We are a leading producer of inorganic products, sodium bisulfate and hydrochloric acid serving the poultry, food and industrial market segments is seeking a Quality and Food Safety Coordinator to ensure we continue to adequately manage the daily quality control, quality assurance and Food Safety workload and are able to support our various Divisions in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Quality Control •

· Follow all applicable Quality Management Procedures

· Performs quality control testing with accuracy and efficiency including but not limited to assay determinations, moisture analysis, bulk density, particle size analysis, chlorides

· Troubleshoots product quality issues with production personnel

· Reports on product quality trends • Conduct inspection of incoming raw materials

· Perform routine QA/QC inspection prior to production and packaging runs of food and feed-grade products as per company’s food safety requirements

· Input daily production and lot testing data into databases

· Organize and maintain QA/QC records

· Clean production magnets as needed

· Perform monthly glass and Good Manufacturing Practice Audits

· Prepare marketing samples for distribution as needed

· Handling and disposing of strong acids

· Perform prescribed calibration and verification of quality monitoring and measurement devices at specified intervals

Quality Assurance and Food Safety

· Assists in training of site employees in Quality Assurance and Food Safety Management systems.

· Become certified to perform Internal Audits of Quality and Food Safety Systems (RC14001/RCMS). Conduct site audits

· Participates in site teams and programs such as Food Safety Team, and others as assigned.

Other Duties

· Assist with daily production data entry.

· Assist in updating site equipment/maintenance files.

Desired Skills & Experience

· Candidate will have a minimum 2 years education in Chemistry or Biology, or equivalent relevant laboratory experience.

· One to three years of Quality Assurance experience.

· Experience in food safety preferred but not mandatory.

· Excellent computer skills, familiar with MS Office, specifically Excel.

· Proven ability to effectively interact with co-workers and participate on cross-functional teams. • Excellent oral communication and technical writing skills.

Essential Functions

· Ability to adjust to meet changing conditions, work pressures and difficult situations.

· Ability to work independently, organize and prioritize workflow, and to communicate appropriately and effectively with others.

· Ability to lift 50 pounds.

· Must meet medical criteria to hear, and discern color differences, cannot be colorblind.

· Must be able to climb stairs and ladders; bend and squat.

· Able to work in a strong magnet environment.

· Occasionally required to work with dust, heat, cold, fumes and odors.

· Stay up to date with company required training.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $42,061.26 - $81,488.26 per year
