The quality and HSE Manager will be responsible for all the aspects of Quality, Health & Safety, and Environment for our site in Shannon, Ireland. Managing one Quality Controller on site, the focus will be to ensure compliance with company policy, legal and statutory regulations, and conformance to customer product requirements and specifications.

There is the possibility to work in hybrid mode, partially from home.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and manage QHSE department activities and workload to support the strategic goals of the company.
  • Develop and communicate key metrics and scorecard to guide improvement efforts to include global and local KPIs
  • Conduct coaching, mentoring, and development of QA personnel, driving continuous improvement in resource efficiency and effectiveness
  • Support the integration of lessons learned from global systems and processes wherever possible.
  • Measure conformance and initiate actions when non-conformances are identified
  • Manage all aspects of customer complaints, from initiation to closure, including CAPAs, communications and formal reports.
  • Manage all aspects of Risk Assessments for new and changed manufacturing processes
  • Investigate, report on, and implements actions of all H&S near misses, incidents and accidents
  • Mentor site quality and operational teams on Root Cause Analysis and effective CAPA processes
  • Management of QHSE Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001)
  • Ensure compliance with customer quality requirements and industry standards.
  • Review and improve inspection procedures & test methods best suited for the efficient quality assurance of company products.
  • Use and application of Lean / Six Sigma methodologies including Value Stream Mapping, Capability Analysis, Control Plans, Kaizen, 5S, 8D & 5 why’s, Root Cause analysis, VOC, QFD, Error Proofing, FMEA, Cause and Effect Diagrams, Pareto Analysis, etc.
  • Continually improve the QHSE performance of the John Crane Ireland facility
  • Internal and Supplier Management Systems Auditing

The Individual

  • Relevant manufacturing experience in a Quality or HSE role in a similar industry
  • Good evidence of delivering results in Quality or HSE and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proven ability to manage teams of direct reports and cross-functional project workers.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or QAD
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Motivated self-starter with the determination and drive to succeed.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organisation and to provide support, guidance and training to managers and colleagues.
  • Ability to work to deadlines with good prioritisation, planning and organisational skills
